e-FAST India Summit 2025

Event Detail

e-FAST India Summit 2025

Date:

India’s freight sector is at a defining juncture. Medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs), which carry over 70% of the country’s freight, are also among the largest contributors to transport-related emissions and air pollution. As India accelerates its clean mobility transition, electrifying MHDVs—particularly along high-utilization freight corridors—offers a powerful opportunity to advance climate goals, reduce fuel imports, and improve public health.

Globally, adoption of electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (e-MHDVs) is gaining momentum. The e-FAST Summit 2025, convened under the leadership of NITI Aayog, was designed to unlock this potential in India. Marking the third anniversary of the e-FAST India (Electric Freight Accelerator for Sustainable Transport) platform, this milestone gathering showcased the initiative’s impact in advancing India’s transition toward zero-emission trucking over the past three years, while setting a bold agenda for the road ahead.

This full-day convening brought together government leaders, vehicle manufacturers, charging infrastructure providers, financiers, shippers, and logistics companies to co-develop a practical roadmap for e-MHDV deployment in India. The Summit concluded with an Awards Ceremony, reflecting the highest level of commitment to India’s electric freight future.
